Sonoma Climate Challenge

We need your help right now to reach our next critical goal

Did you know that over 40% of greenhouse gas emissions come from actions at the household level?

We believe that you can help us create a resilient, sustainable future with healthy, safe and thriving neighborhoods. Sonoma County is already a leader in climate action and sustainability, but we need your help right now to reach our next critical goal.

The 2019 Sonoma Climate Challenge showed that together we can create a clean energy, low carbon future and make Sonoma County a national model. Over 6 months, nearly 500 households took over 600 actions to reduce 178 tons of CO2e, and helped conserve water and save money along the way. If you participated in the Challenge, you can still log into your account for a limited time.

What’s Your Carbon Footprint?

We believe that you can help us create a resilient, sustainable future with healthy, safe and thriving neighborhoods. You can take the first step with a quick carbon footprint estimate.

The carbon footprint calculator from the Cool Climate Network even suggests actions you can take, from eating a low carbon diet to purchasing green electricity.

Energy Efficiency at Home

There are many ways to reduce your carbon footprint at home while increasing comfort and health. BayREN Home+ offers cash rebates for your home improvements, plus certified contractors and support every step of the way.

You can start by speaking with a Home Energy Advisor or take an online home energy evaluation to learn what changes can help lower your energy bills.
