Sonoma Climate Mobilization

Solidifying Sonoma County’s commitment to mobilizing an emergency response commensurate with the scale of the climate crisis.

RCPA has developed a Climate Mobilization Strategy to support the resolution declaring a Climate Emergency that was adopted by our Board of Directors in September 2019.

The Strategy was adopted by the RCPA Board of Directors on March 8, 2021 and RCPA staff is working to develop funding and implementation plans for several priority policy projects.

This strategy document outlines 13 countywide actions under local authority that have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030. The RCPA will support the strategy document by coordinating with local jurisdictions, the County of Sonoma, and our agency partners to assist with policy development and prioritizing implementation.
